Common Baron (Euthalia aconthea)

And now the other side of the Common Baron I captured in Goa, friends.
It was perched inside thick foliage, so I had only this perspective available when I took this shot. I know the obstruction of full view would irk many of you, but I could not help it. Moreover, it was my first sighting of this butterfly, so I could not afford to lose it.
I have cropped the image a little too close for compositional purposes.
For detailed note on the species, please refer to my post of yesterday.
Thanks for looking.

Hello Sir, We are neighbors today. When I first looked casually i took the white spots to be hole. But then I realised WOW. This is absolute beauty and lovely wing colors and pattern. But the pity is the bamboo coming in front. Nice view and good composition. Ganesh

Hi Mr. Ram,

Hi Ram,

A great follow up to your previous posting, this really is an amazing species, wonderful colours, and superb detail, some might say its a pity with the foliage in front of the wing but that’s nature, but to be honest I like it, and you've managed to capture a superb image in beautiful light, really well done.

Hello Ram,
Beautiful sharp-detailed photo in excellent natural colours. The details in the wings and on the head are marvelous. Very good POV and composition.
Kind regards,

The appearance of a phallic symbol in the image was directing my eye immediately. I wonder if I am the only one who noticed or perhaps someone else did and didn't say. nature is like that..and sometimes in archetype, this just happens as you well know...all of this is in the eyes of the beholder however...VERY good image...very central theme and subliminal message in image format...

hello sir,
nice capture, the wing patterns and the details are very good, liked the tight crop and the details in the closeup, the green surrounings makes the image look even beautiful, the small brown branc distracts a bit,
tfs & regards

This image showing the underside of the Baron butterfly deserves credit for the sharpness and POV. A purist would point out the cut-off wing tip and the fact that part of the body is hidden by a dead plant stem.
At the same time this is an attractive capture, Ram, and well worth posting as practically all the features of the underside of the wings of this species are well shown.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Al the best, Ivan

Hi Ram,

This Common Baron (common?) has such an elegant look. The colors and markings are beautiful. A good view of it through the leaves which I don't think are a detraction.

Hello Ramuncle,
Good shot. nice view. Pity the bamboo is coming in front. Excellent sharpness. Vignesh

Hi Ram, fantastic butterfly with wonderful colors, fine details and excellent sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio
