[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Friends, in September last year, I shot and posted a picture of two Cattle Egrets with this rustic woman from Rajasthan. She was cutting grass for her cattle and about five Cattle Egrets were hovering around her working hands, almost interfering with her work. The woman, apparently, was unearthing insects in the process of cutting grass and these birds were feeding on those insects. Though I was apprehensive my picture would be removed for the presence of a human figure in it, it stayed because I dwelt on the theme of close communion between nature and man in my note with the picture and our moderators are discerning individuals, no doubt.
Basically, I am extending that theme through this second picture four months later. Here I have shown only one Cattle Egret with the rustic woman. See how physically close they are to each other. Both are least bothered about the proximity and are quite relaxed in each other's company.
That's what I consider real bonding between man and nature.
Hope you like this picture for what it says.

Cattle Egrets are much written about, so I will finish my note here.
Thanks for stopping by, if you do.

Ram,

I remember that picture you've posted before. Just like then, the human presence does not bother me at all. On the contrary, it shows that we can get along with nature just fine.... I wish this example was applied to other occasions as well. Anyways, TFS.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hello Ram,
I wish there was a stronger bond between man and nature around the world. I was always amazed in India and Gambia with their dense populations, how unshy birds and animals were! Here there's too much space where wildlife can hide!! The Cattle Egret is pretty dependent on man and its cattle and this shows the bond very nicely.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Merhaba Ram,
Selamlar.

Hello Ram!

Maybe I'm a dreamer, but I hope some day all our world will be without wars and conflicts, with much stronger bonds between humen and nature. Sorry, but I'm in very depressed mood - moment ago I read the news, that Polish engineer working in Pakistan was decapitated by Talibans. Your picture is light years away from our cruel world. Woman and bird coexisting in harmony, look like best friends. Very symbolic, allegoric picture. I repeat - I hope one day all of us will live in such harmony with each other and rest beings on our planet.

The bird looks like a companion to the woman, like a dog would. And how colourful and nice, I like that precious moment that you captured, the bird seemingly at ease and so is the woman. To me such a picture seems like it's coming from another world (which it is) with simple people living simply on earth, not on an imagined make-up of the world ;-) Thank you Ram,

Francine

Hello Ram !
Even thoug there is a woman on the picture, you are focus on the Egret, so I suppose it's allowed here ! :-) It's great to see nature and humans interact like that, happens to me too when we cut grass to let it dry as hay, all the birds fly around us to get the insects that are revelead by the cut grass. It's amazing to see how animals can get close to us just to feed, it's always so wonderful to see it and your picture shows this feeling very nicely, I like it. Very well done !
Valérie.
