:). Happy Republic Day! I am sure your are the witness on all these 59 years of republic India and you have seen all these ups and downs.
Congratulations for completing 2 years on TN. Your humble admission "I was under the impression I was a fairly good photographer" is totally wrong. You are really GOOD photographer and that is reflected through your photos.
Yes it's a holiday today, but not for me. I am in office working hard to meet end date 30th January. That is life of a Software Engineer who cannot enjoy his national holiday -Republic Day. And people envy IT people foe money they get, nobody sees the hard work behind it. I think I am diverting from topic here. :)
Its a typical scene India, birds on electric wires. Very well captures and framed shot. Grate details showing it's feathers. Wish the sky was blue. No problem though.

hello sir,

congratulation on completing two years here at TN, Today we are celebrating Republic day and i wish you a Happy Republic Day.

this is a fine capture for the ocassion and i will surely try my camera in programmed auto mode, the focus is spot on, the eye contact is lovely and the composition is great, the light coloured bg makes the bird stand out so well and inspite of the difficult light you have managed exposure very well,

your total series of the bee eaters has been fantastic but this one is better then the earlier shots, i too have seen bee eaters sitting on the wire but not been able to shoot them,

well done and looking forward to another year of learning in your company at TN and also hope that you will be able to spare some more time with us here like the early days of mine or your first year here,you got pretty busy after retirement (from the job at Saudi offcourse). I think you are enjoying the new responsibility for sure,

i also went through some part of your blog and enjoyed it a lot and will be reading it from start to end soon, you are a good writer and i can empathise a lot of situations mentioned there and think that most of the Indians will do, you have designed your page beautifully with great aesthetic sense,

You have been a staple member of TN for two years now and I have followed and been inspired by you since I joined nearly a year ago! And I don't know how you can say you are just fairly good! You are exceptional... more than exceptional even! Just remember the saying: It's not the camera that makes a photo... it's the photographer! :)

My best congratulation because of two years on TN!!! And this is a very beaufiful picure to celebrate it!
Really the technique of this image is very interesting for me. The vivid, perfectly saturated colours of bird against almost white tones of BG (sky I believe). It is interesting how did you do it: to keep colours of main object and to prepare so intensive contrast with BG.

Hi Ram,
Extremely detailed and well captured Bee Eater in a very beautiful pose, from a good pov and with perfect, natural colours.
It seems that the guys in Nikon did a good job controling every single parameter in the camera when working in auto mode, as you defined them by opposition to mortals :-). Anyway we mortals have the privilege to find our ways ourselves: that is why freedom and manuals adjustment exist!
Congratulation on your 2nd year among us. These time was full of explendid photos and touching histories. Let's go for the third!

Some friend hinted (nudge-nudge) that I had an old-timers relapse and forgot about another "junior" TrekNature member who also just celebrated his 2nd anniversary. So, here I am, and I am looking..., and what do I see?
