I shot this picture in my factory. The recent rain has actually got the insects out from their den and also has created in a lot of production.

Grasshoppers are herbivorous insects of the suborder Caelifera in the order Orthoptera. To distinguish them from bush crickets or katydids, they are sometimes referred to as short-horned grasshoppers. Species that change colour and behaviour at high population densities are called locusts.

Hi Narayanan . A good top view of the Grasshopper. You have captured it with good detail and natural colours. You have kept the body in focus . with good use of the light. well done TFS , good notes too.

Hello Ganesh,

I do like this pov which enables us to see the body shape and colours clearly.
The crop works very well making the grasshopper create a diagonal.
Good dof.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ganesh,

I think I'll visit your factory!! Wonderful pov showing us the view from above. It's amazing how much of him we can see. He looks very sleek with excellent colors and details. You captured him in a nice position on the leaf.

Hello Ganesh,
I think your pictures of the various species of grasshopper that you have shown can form the start of a catalogue of grasshoppers from northern India. You could present to the entomlogical dept at the Univ of Delhi and maybe they would give you a species guide. Could be the start of a book on Indian grasshoppers!
Anothe fine macro of another species taken from a POV that shows the features sharply.
TFS this beauty and for your kind words on my second TN anniversary.
Best wishes, Ivan

Hi Nara, the choice of the point of view make a difference! Very very nice work,i like a lot the beautifull colors of this grasshoppers, the excellents details of the wings and eyes,my best compliments,Luciano

Bonitos colores y luz. El encuadre quizá hubiera ganado alejándose algo más del motivo. No por ello deja de ser una fotografía más que correcta.
