Dedicated to Evelynn Smith : The first glimpse of Pangong Tso at 14,000 feet ASL, from miles away was a very divine and spiritual experience. A speck of deep blue amidst sand dunes, rocks and stone, it resembled a blue diamond nestling in the palm of Nature's hand. The closer we got to the lake, the more beautiful it looked. We finally arrived at the shores of this mini-ocean and it was our moment of enlightenment at the end of a pilgrimage. Refer >Large Version.

A drop of the ocean was encompassed between natural pyramids of sandstone. The long trek along the shores of this lake is a geologists dream. Shiny stones, natural gems, crystals, smooth pebbles, rocks, slates and amethysts decorated the banks of this water goddess. I collected as many of these treasures as possible as souvenirs. But the most fascinating phenomenon that awaited us was the changing colours of the lake during the day. From azure to aquamarine to greenish blue to green to purple and violet, the colours of this majestic water body changed with every passing hour. The long boat ride on the placid waters of this ocean of tranquility calmed my body, mind and soul.

The LP image is truly magnificent, Subhash.
I first saw the images of this place in the showroom of Ashok Dilwali -- a famous landscape photographer from Delhi who has a studio in Connought Place.
The image is perfect and the blue lake looks very beautiful.
These are gems of pictures in your collection.
TFS and all the best.

Ahhhh..if anyone knows a pallet of colours it is Eve..she is a master at this and she also likes this pano type shots...and I love the blues here...such a dramatic difference between the deep blues at this elevation and the blues of say the Bahamas...I wonder if anyone notices...but there are big differences in tones..and also in temps...colder water here no doubt...Very nice presentation,.

Hi Subhash,

The LP is absolutely magnificent. You should work for the Tourism Bureau - your photos are a wonderful advertisement for your country. The water, the mountains with the snow, the sky and clouds are a feast for the eyes. Superb colors and composition.

Bonjour Subhash,
C'est évidemment la version large qui permet d'apprécier la finesse des détails et la délicatesse des couleurs dans l'immensité de cette très agréable publication.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Gee!... thanks for the dedication Subhash! That lake is indeed a jewel. The color is stunning. Viewing the large version makes one feel like being right there in person! I love high mountain country... above the tree line.
