Outstanding shot of this very beautiful Peacock Pansy with immaculate sharpness, lovely colours and great details on its wings. Nice pose captured and the darkish BG makes the subjects stand out perfectly. Superb lighting and DOF. I like the way its proboscis is positioned. Very nicely composed. Thanks for sharing.

a very sharp picture of the underside wing pattern of Junonia almana (family: Nympahlidae).
The missing part of the hindwings is probably a beak mark from a bird's attack.
Best wishes, Peter

Excelente captura de las alas Narayanan, con unos destacables colores y un enfoque muy preciso. Buen fondo y luz. Lástima que la cabeza quedara ladeada.
Un abrazo: J. Ignasi Tejedor.

Technically, I can raise no criticism, so very well done. Yes, I am certain that this is the handywork of a hungry bird!! I wonder how many more times he will escape. Thanks.

I do like it yes! I looked at 1/160th of a second and I am glad it didn't try to fly away or you wold have had flashing wings:-) That Rebel will go up quite high ISO right? But here using the lower speed gave you a better control over your depth of field. Fine image..

I like the view very much. This butterfly is beautiful even with the flaw. Imperfection in nature does not destroy the beauty. The colors and details of the wing markings are exquisite. Just wonderful against the dark background.

Hello Ganesh. This one looks very much like my Peacock pansy in my last post. Excellent sharp detail in closed wings. The upper side which has strong colors is visible through the tattered wings. Well muted background and thanks for sharing. Jusni

Except for the bird peck as Mr.Nagraj has pointed out, this picture is really good, I like the back ground, though could have given little more space I felt. TFS.

si vous aviez pu vous tourner un peu vers l'avant du papillon l'image aurait été plus forte a mon gout mais ce n'est toujours evident,le resultat reste tout de même tres bon.

A fine closed-wing capture of a Peacock Pansy taken with excellent sharpness against a superb OOF dark natural BG. The two v-shaped notches of missing parts on the hind wing were clearly caused by a bird that had a go at it while it was resting like this.
Interesting that it is taking salts from the tip this twig that has been damaged in some way.
The damaged making use of the damaged!:)
TFS this superb image,

Excelent shot with this butterfly. The image is very good having excelent sharpness. I am impressed by the way wing's structure is visible. You have used very well the light and pattern of wings can be easily admired. Good natural colors too. The nice colored blurry background comes to raise the overall quality of the image.
Thank you for sharing,
