Dark Brand Bushbrown
Mycalesis mineus polydecta Cramer
Satyridae family.

Most of these bushbrowns have beatutiful spots (Ocellus) and it helps to indentify the species from one another. True to its name, they prefer shady places like bushes and rarely come to the open, making it difficut to spot (because of the coloration) and capture a decent image. They prefer the undergrowth where the light levels are less for good exposures and depth. They are also very alert and will sometimes test your patience.
This one I captured handheld (on my knees) and tried to get a clear view among the leaves, almost shooting through them.

Hello Nagraj uncle, Excellent shot and lovely view of those spots on the wings. I see some light patche on the wing. Is it shadow or some thing obstructing in front? TFS Vignesh

Hi Nagaraj , again another great example of your focusing accuracy , great job getting this one through the leaves , nice detail , color and well composed with a great out of focus background

thanks for sharing it

Hi Nagaraj,

A lovely shot of this handsome insect. It's interesting to note that there are quite a few species that look very much like this one all over the world. This one resembles the Wood Nymph that we have here, except for the light stripe.
