This is another and may be the final landscape from Devdarha . I have posted three other landscape shots from this area but this one remains my preference among the posted shots.

I still remember that the day was quite humid and hot and climbing up this rocky terrain wasnt of much pleasure with the camera and lenses specially when i was not sure what i was going to get after reaching the spot. When i reached this spot i was so exceited to see this view from the eye of my camera that i forgot everything and start capturing this beautyful nature. After taking some shots and enjoying being there i had to rush back to my car as this is a remote area and i had to leave fast before sun sets. Coming back was a real tought task as i forgot to take even water with me and those 45 miutes walk was the toughest excercise i did .In between i took rest on a flat rock looking at the sky and feeling the frsh air and the raw nature in its purest from.

This trip will be in my memory for a long time and it also helped me in having a basic understanding of landscapes and the capacity of mine and my sigma lens too.

Tomorrow morning i am off to six days business trip and will get back on saterday , till then take care and god bless you all.

Hello Pankaj,
This is an amazing landscape picture with beautiful natural colours and light.
The composition and the POV is very good; well done!
Best regards

Hi Pankaj,
There is something like speed in this photo maybe caused by the directness lines
that goes to the center of the plan, that make me focus to the center, come back to
the rocks and in opposition to the sky and after i come back to the valley,... the
river, ... yes this picture in a trip.
Very good composition.

Hi Pankaj,
very beautiful shot with great colors and excellent POV.

Hello Pankaj,
I agree with you this is a fine landscape image taken from a great POV to produce an excellent composition, almost an explosion of rocks, vegetation and clouds emanating from the farthest point of the small valley in the middle.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,

Now you're nailing those landscapes Pankaj..Perfecto! This is just how I would have done it...although I tend to play with the knobs of the PP program sometimes just for added fun...but you are right on target here...I knew you could do it..now all you have to d is put up with less points (and I guess in the end they are not the most important anyway)...because folks tend towards bugs and such..landscapes have to be pretty doggone good to get rave reviews, but I putter around still I asked Rick if he was going to try some landscapes and he said nada..but he will when he sees the pacif8c in a few days..

Hi Pankaj,
I also love taking long walks into the wild like this.(sometimes I walk for 4 hours into the rainforest and 4 hours out again)
This is an awesome landscape and you've captured it so well.
It looks like a limestone area to me.Did you see any caves on your trip?
Love the overall feel of the shot.
The river looks muddy .. must have been heavy rain shortly before.
Great work.

Good work, Pankaj.
Almost an entire expedition to get there but the rewarding was the best and that's what it's all about.
I checked the map and I think the spot doesn't match. Probably it is situated in the environment.
When I fill in the latitude and longitude in Treknature, I always end up somewhere in the middle of the ocean)-:
Could use a tutorial:-)
Well done

Hi Pankaj,
Very beautiful landscape! technically, I have nothing to say. For me, all is perfect, great DOF, good lighting and nice composition.

Hi Pankaj,
This indeed looks like a nice wilderness area. The Sigma 10-20 is, for sure, a landscaper's friend. You managed nice foreground rocks, and interest in the middle and background as well as a great sky that only a very wide angle lens can record. Nice work. I thought for a minute, when you said you were excitedly looking at the view through the camera, that perhaps you almost fell off the rocks... be careful... that can happen. Don't get too excited! : )

Love the way you almost get sucked into the middle of this one Pankaj! Very nice POV and dramatic sky too...it is nice to read in your note the connection you have started to make to the landscapes around you though this type of photography...you will never look at things in quite the same way again!

Fantastic work. Very nice lighting and a beautiful scene. Well done.
Best wishes,

Ciao Pankaj, wonderful landscape with fantastic sky, splendid perspective and beautiful colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Pankaj!

I'm glad that you are satisfied with your landscape experiences. I also like this one most. The shape of the valley and the cloud formations create a delightful perspective and depth of view! Moreover, both - the clouds and the rocks - have similar patterns and shapes. Well seen!

Kind regards

Hi Pankaj,
I like this blend of interesting terrain and that great looking sky..
Good sense of depth, with the river drawing the eye through the frame & up to the distant hills..Nice sat & detail,
Well done!

Its also a good grab.

Great landscape picture, good POV and nice timing with the clouds, gives the picture a kind of movement. Well done, Reina

Hi Pankaj,
So this place Devdarha is in Orissa. How about travelling a little further to Bhubaneswar in December this year and join Sumon, HP, Satya, Ganesan and me for a couple of days' meeting and photography excursions around the place? Even Bangalore guys might join us!? Goutham has shown some interest in the proposal the three of us set rolling during our first meeting on the 2nd of this month. We called you while we were sitting together over a cup of coffee in Delhi. In fact, we had already included you for our proposed meeting in December :)!
If Bangalore people really take it seriously, it might result into an almost all-India meet! You can never tell.
Coming to your current landscape picture, you have now turned into an experienced and highly gifted landscape photographer. The image has everything a good landscape should have -- composition, colours, contrasts (if the picture were in B&W medium)and the depth of view. The monsoon sky in all your landscape images thus far has proved to be the strongest component. It is just beautiful in this picture.
By keeping the river off centre, you have added to the aesthetic richness of this picture.
Never mind the physical discomfort you underwent; the beautiful image again compensates you amply for the effort.
Thank you and all the best.

Dear Pankaj,

'Hello' after a long time...hope you are doing great...
The landscape shots have been coming up superbly each new one overtaking the other in all aspects of quality.
I almost agreed with your notes about this being the preferred one of all shots, but on checking back i found another one that attracted me a wee bit more. So i would go back to it, later.
This however cannot be discounted for its virgin beauty...the hardships you endured I 'm sure would have melted away after soaking in the compliments you have recieved for this shot.Very fine PoV and DoF. I like the number of elements involved. The course of the river depicted makes a nice angle of view. Thanks for this work of art.

P.S:The profile shot and the little naughty smile is too cute to miss..in my favourites list this one just stands rivetting:)
