[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I spotted this cricket in the middle of nowhere in the desert, right out in the sand. I'm not sure what is the name of this insect, if anyone knows, I'll be happy to hear it.

Hello Amit
Welcome to TrekNature. You've captured an excellent close up of this tiny cricket. Colours and composition are great.

hello Amit,
Welcome on TN.
Your first shot is a very interesting one.
What a strange cricket..with the typical desert colors. I think this creature has never been presented on this site until now.
Very interesting shot. It might be difficult to find the ID, but we never know..
Best regards

welcome Amit!!!!
like a capture in 3D
good first post!!!

Hello Amit,
Welcome to Trek Nature.
This is a great shot to start off with.
We have an insect very similar to this in New Zealand, but ours live in the forest, not the desert.
We call them 'Weta' here, which is a Maori name, but in other countries they are usually called King Crickets.
I think your one is probably a kind of Jerusalem Cricket (Stenopelmatidae).
If you do a Google web search or image search of Stenopelmatidae you should be able to find out enough information to write about it.
Cheers & thanks for sharing this.

Hi Amit , Welcome to TrekNature , I hope you enjoy the site , this is a nice image to start off with and an interesting subject , sorry no help here with an Identification , but thanks for sharing it

fascinating creature. Good shot.

This kinda looks like a scorpion, good texture and detail, it blends in with the sand and seems like animals would sometimes mistake it for a scorpion, good shot!

Gotta go with Steve on this... some sort of King Cricket.
