[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first post in this month. It has been almost one month since i had posted my last picture and that too was a landscape shot. My last three images have been landscapes only. (Transformation from shooting macro to shooting landscapes).

I have been travelling quite a lot in recent past for my work and was not able to shoot or write critiques here. Finally i took a break and went for a small holiday to one of my favorite state Orissa and tried to learn a bit of shooting landscapes.

This shot i took while travelling from Puri to Khurda by the bypass road. This bumpy ride resulted in some good natural views of this beautiful area.

The shot has been taken with Nikon D 80 along with Sigma 10-20mm. The sigma circular polariser was used.
The image has been cropped, framed and resized before posting.

Hi Pankaj,
This place is so different fom the places I usually go to take my photos.
The country around here is all steep, and covered in dense rainforest (85 % of the West Coast is nature reserve).
I couldn't imagine living in such a sparse environment.
Still,it has its own beauty, and I guess there must be wildlife.
Quite an incredible landscape.
Thanks for sharing it.

it sure is wallpaper material! a larger frame of this image will look awesome! the composition is very good. tfs!

Ciao Pankaj, wonderful landscape with fantastic sky, splendid light and colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Unusual...we have some areas on the Palouse which are all grassy or barren with exception of a handful of trees...not the same as an oasis in a desert but gives rise to question why. A fine image Pankaj. Good to see you my friend!

Hello Pankaj,
Not a common sight from India but I love it!!
Wonderful view across this barren landscape with just a few palm trees breaking up the plain and a few clouds floating in the sky. Marvellous colours and excellent DOF. Very interesting POV and well composed.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi MF Pankaj, sorry i did not noticed that you also came back. A belated welcome back MF!
A splendid landscape capture with excellent colours, wonderful blue sjy with clouds and fine composition.
TFS and cheers,

Hello Pankaj
Nice too see you again on TN and your landscape is beautiful,
great composition and wonderful colors
very well done

Your landscape imagery is getting better and better, Pankaj.
This is a cool location in Orissa. Those trees in the middle of a vast emptiness fill the landscape with life. The dappled shadows of clouds on the tilled earth also add nuances to the image.
Glad to know you are coming out of your ennui and have resumed taking pictures.
And don't get too bogged down with work either :).

Hello Pankaj,
A fine landscape showing a row of six palms in a desolate flat landscape, the sky meeting the horizon fringed with more distant trees in a great composition.
Though this plain must be agricultural it looks as if the next crop has not been sown yet, which gives it a feeeling of space and desolation.
Thanks and all the best,
