[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
KokreBellur or Kokkare Bellur is a people backed bird sanctuary. Major visitors here are Painted storks, pelican, egrets etc.,
The village is Bellur, but called Kokkare Bellur - Kokkare meaning - Storks (or cranes).
The entire village is a bird sancturay. Most of the people are involved in taking care of the birds and more importantly maintaining the eco system of the village and its surroundings. All this without commercializing their efforts!
Incidentally a child aged 8, was our guide -who volunteered us around the village.
About the picture - Got bored of taking the usual spread wings. Resembles M Phelphs jumping out of the starting blocks. |
