Yet another very big fly.

Insects in the order Diptera, family Tabanidae, are commonly called horse flies, and sometimes also forest flies or deer flies. The former, however, can also refer to Hippoboscidae, and the latter refers specifically to the horse-fly genus Chrysops. Often considered pests for the bites that many inflict, they are among the world's largest true flies. They are known to be extremely noisy during flight. They are also important pollinators of flowers, especially in South Africa. Tabanids occur worldwide, being absent only at extreme northern and southern latitudes. Flies of this type are among those known sometimes as gadflies, zimbs or clegs. In Australia, they are known as "march flies"; elsewhere this term refers to the unrelated dipteran family Bibionidae.

Thanks a lot for viewing.

Hello Haraprasan,
As I’m just back from a trip to see my son and two grand-daughters my critiques replies are delayed.
An excellent capture of what I think is the male of a species of Horse Fly
+: Sharpness, DOF, pose, POV, BG, composition, colours and lighting.
-: none, though the BG lacks contrast but that can't be helped.
Thanks and best regards,
Ivan

hello Haraprasan,
Again an excellent shot of a Tabanidae-fly. Amazing to see these big spotted eyes! Very harmonious colors all in brown tints. Our Tabanidae have sometimes great green eyes.
Kind regards
Anne

Hallo Haraprasan
The detail captured on this fly is really great. The focus as well as the sharpness and composition are just right. It is a favourable sight looking at this fly from above. This way one can see its whole profile, body and wing structure and the detail in its beautiful eyes. I really like the light caught in the middle of the thorax, reflecting back to the viewer’s eye, and the details seen of the different segments of the body. Thanks for sharing. Best regards from a very cold South-Africa.
Anna
