Common Leopard

Scientific Name : phalanta phalantha

Wingspan : 50 60 mm

This is a bright tawny butterfly marked with black spots. The underside is pale but glossy and fresh specimens have a bluish or purple sheen. The male and female look similar. The dry season form has a more prominent purple gloss on the underside.

Hi Arun. This is a very colourful butterfly which you have taken with fine detail. I like the top POV so we can see the open wings with all of the markings. Taken with god detail and bright colours. A fine picture of the Common Leopard. well taken TFs.
