Hi friends,
It's good to be back.:)
This time I will share with you a picture of Darter aka Snake Bird (Anhinga melanogaster). It's a black water bird with silver grey streaks on back and velvety brown head and neck. The slender snake like head and pointed dagger bill cannot be missed. Sexes alike. They are seen solitary or in loose parties on rivers or lakes. They are very much like Cormorants but less gregarious. While swimming, the body remains submergedand onlythe snake like head can be seen. its staple food is fish.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hello Smitha,
How nice to see you back after more than three months. And with a photo of a Darter in fantastic light. Great contrasting dark BG. Very beautiful sharpness, pose and composition. Hope to see a lot more photos from you in the next weeks.

Hallo there stranger
How good it is to see a posting from you and what a beautiful one I might add. The detail on this Darters plumage is really lovely and so pleasant to look at, the neckline elegant and slender and pose very graceful. I like the shape of the dark tailpiece. It is striking. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Smitha,
Nice to see you posting again!
The pose, lighting POV and composition are perfect! The Bg and colours make this an attractive portrait of this Anhinga that is great to view.
Thanks and best wishes to you and your family.

Hi smitha,

A beautiful compostion of branch and the bird with the long catchy neck. congrats and keep posting

Hi Smitha,

Nice bird with a long neck lit with the slanted sun, more prominent in the blurred background. The placement of the bird on the dry branch like a cross is appealing too. The focus seems to have gone soft from bottom right to top left edge of the photograph, though. Overall a good composition.

Hello Smitha,
Beautiful composition specially the pose of the bird, taken in a great sunlight with good details and colors.

Hello Smitha,

You get your points, since these week i give no points because this system isn't correct.

Good shot, taken in early morning light, great composition too!

This is a GORGEOUS bird, Smitha. And a fine capture of it. Love the bg, perfectly complementary to the colors of the bird. Nice detail on the feathers and branch - and the colors of the sun resting on its neck. Well done!

What a beautiful bird, Smitha!
Taken from a very effective point of view, the picture is lyrical in nature and a work of art. The colours suggest as if it were a painting.
Well done and TFS.
