i don't know the ID of this flower or the that of its parent plant. it was a huge tree on the way towards Chilika lake while we were going through Satapada. a government tourist bus was available, but we had taken a car so that we could drop by where ever it was required (birds). yes, that trip was basically for bird watching, and summer was not a good time for birds in that region. i knew that the migratory birds could be available in winter, and those were huge birds basically. so i opted for small local birds to utilize the trip. and it was not a failure at all.

there was a region where, the both sides of the road were full of Cashew and Soap-nut trees. big gardens actually. as a part of farming. i don't know what tree this one was. but the flowers were splendid. and leaves quite big and thick.

can any one help me with the ID?

Hi Ruby,

Very nice imaginative composition, but unfortunately sharpness lets this image down, however keep trying, you have a good aptitude for great pictures,
Best Regards,

I suspect we have a minor camera shake ..if we have to identify the reason behind the lack of sharpness dear Ruby. Maybe I am wrong this time!! I think as well that the presented plant is not the easiest subject to photograph. Seems complicated despite its natural beauty. The frame save the day ..;)
