|Grey Herons are widespread winter visitors as well as passage migrants but not recorded in NW & NE part of the subcontinent. Adults have yellow bill, whitish head with black head plumes. In breeding seasons, the plumage, bills & legs becomes orange/ reddish in color.|
Immatures are duller in color, has dark cap with slight crest, dirty grey neck, lacks plumes & has dark legs.
Usually feeds singly, occassionally can be seen in groups. Are found near inland waterbodies, creeks, coastal waters, lakes, marshes & mangroves.

I really like your light in this photo. It is going against your subject but lit the scene very nicely. You have however captured with you exposure very good detail in the shadow areas of the Heron. Good POV , DOV, and composition, super job.
