[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Carpenter bees (the genus Xylocopa in the subfamily Xylocopinae) are large bees distributed worldwide. There are some 500 species of carpenter bee in 31 sub-genera. Their name comes from the fact that nearly all species build their nests in burrows in dead wood, bamboo, or structural timbers (except those in the subgenus Proxylocopa, which nest in the ground). Members of the related tribe Ceratinini are sometimes referred to as "small carpenter bees".

Dear Ram,
A glorious macro with perfect details of every component. The multi facetted eyes are stunning. The shades of yellow and orange are truly enchanting.

Hallo Ram
First of all I would like to say that I love your Intro statement, as it is so true about the genuine stalwarts that disappeared and I to hope they will return. Sometimes the site leaves me quite heart sore if I see the little group of members still posting and I too want to pack my bags and leave, but then when I peek at the gallery and I see a brightly coloured thumbnail like yours of today, I decide to stay a little longer, and a little longer and yet a little longer.

Great composition showing the whole flower and the head of the feeding bee in the centre. Great point of view and all round vivid colours that displays so beautifully. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
