[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Grey Francolin (formerly also called the Grey Partridge). Francolinus pondicerianus is a species of francolin found in the plains and drier parts of South Asia. They are found in open cultivated lands as well as scrub forest and their local name of teetar is based on their calls, a loud and repeated Ka-tee-tar...tee-tar which is produced by one or more birds. The term teetar can also refer to other partridges and quails. During the breeding season calling males attract challengers and decoys were used to trap these birds especially for fighting.

Hi Navnith, beautiful capture of this interesting specie,a very good quality of details and colors and a nice composition too.Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

To say it again, a wonderful image of these carefree Francolins in their natural habitat, Navnith. Bandipur must be a great place for nature lovers. I once passed through it at night by bus from Mysore to Ooty several years ago and at that time, I had no clue about nature photography either.

Dear Navnith,
Interesting notes, thank you.

These Franklins are attractive birds well shown by the sharp details and natural colours.

I think the image would have been more attractive, had you cropped less tightly thus showing a bit of the habitat; As you chose a small depth of field, the surroundings are not in focus, and the viewer cannot appreciate the flora of Bandipur...

Thanks for sharing

Kind Regards from the Tzaneen Dam in Limpopo, South Africa

not easy to see and even more difficult to fotograph - not 100% sharp - but a nice pic.
