The Yellow-footed Green Pigeon (Treron phoenicoptera), also known as Yellow-legged Green Pigeon, is a common species of green pigeon found in the Indian Subcontinent. It is the state bird of Maharashtra.
In Marathi it is called Hariyal. The species feeds on fruit, including many species of Ficus. They forage in flocks. In the early morning they are often seen sunning on the tops of emergent trees in dense forest areas.
Yes they come every year to West Bengal from Maharashtra (I suppose). I saw them last year also in the same tree but could not capture because this tree is very tall. This year I had hope they they will come and yes they are here and I have also purchased a high zoom camera.
I am still surprise how they remember...the way and this particular tree???????
Thanks to Abhisekh Sharma who helped to come closer to the bird.

Most beautiful pigeon-species. I never had seen a colorful like this before.
Good colour, sharpness and composition.
I have been looking at your Yellow-footed Pigeon images. I believe I like this particular shot the best. It shows the bird in a fine pose and you can get a great view of it's incredibly beautiful plumage. Great job!!
Hope you don't mind, but I wanted to try a WS on this shot.
