[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The slaty-headed parakeet (Psittacula himalayana) is the only psittacid species to exhibit altitudinal migration. The species' range extends from Pakistan, to West Himalayas in India through Nepal and Bhutan and up to the Eastern Himalayas in the NE Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. They descend to the valleys in winter, approximately during the last week of October. Patch on inner median wing coverts deep maroon in males, missing in females; long central tail feathers in male.

Hello Subhash Ranjan,

I haven't seen this species in our area, but I saw in Neora Valley National Park.
Very beautiful capture. Nice eye contact and I like its usual pose.
Thanks for sharing with educative NOTE,
Regards and have a nice week end,

Bonjour Subhash,
Le sujet me semble manquait d'un peu de contraste par rapport à son environnement mais il est tout de même relativement bien valorisé dans une attitude originale.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
