Sorry, friends! I made a stupid error by identifying this butterfly as a Common Baron. This Chocolate Pansy appeared on the terrace parapet of my house on Nov 5 and flew away after giving me only one shot.

Junonia iphita, the chocolate pansy or chocolate soldier, is a butterfly found in Asia.

The wingspan is about 5–6 cm (2.0–2.4 in) and the female can be told apart from the male by white markings on the oblique line on the underside of the hindwing. The wavy lines on the underside of the wings vary from wet to dry season forms.

Individuals maintain a territory and are usually found close to the ground level and often bask in the sun.

hallo Ram
very nice picture of this butterfly
good sharpness and lovely naturel colours
thanks gr lou

Hello Ram,
Wonderful photo of the Common Baron in a fully opened wing pose. The markings are very pretty and I love the rich brown color tones. Exposure is perfect and I like the framing.
PS. Winter is slowly approaching although we still have a few warm days from time to time. I actually saw a Clouded Yellow flirting about yesterday which is quite unusual for this late in the year.

Hi Ram,lovely capture of this brown common baron, you lost a bit the details of the top of the wings but this is the result of the difficult flat perspective, still and excellent and interesting shot,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano
