a.k.a. Brahminy starling, Brahminy mynah, Black-headed mynah
From Eastern Afganistan, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, and Himalayan foothills, this is a familiar bird around towns. Frequently visits lightly wooded countryside far from habitation. Mainly a ground feeder, eating both animal and vegetable matter. Also attracted to flowering and fruited trees. |
