INSECTS OF SULAWESI
This, previous and further postings should be understood as a contribution to increase the knowledge on insects of Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The dragonfly shown is
- Lathrecista asiatica
- family: Libellulidae

Species information
L. asiatica is wide-spread in Asia and the Australian region but usually not common. Preferential places are forest margins as was the case also here.

Location
Porabua - a small village in the vast mountaineous and rain forest covered region north of the line Kolaka - Kendari (Indonesia, Southeast-Sulawesi).

- bright natural light
- no wind
- handheld

Hello Peter.
This is an excelent close-up of the dragonfly showing the insect in a special position. The lighting solution you have chosen is nice with insect's body in a fine light against the dark blurry background. The very good sharpness of the image shows the insect in great details.Best regards Siggi
