Another macro shot. The slug was climbing up a small rock in the original shot, but I turned it around and cropped.

When you say you 'turned it around', do you mean you picked up the slug and put it another position?
That is not strictly very natural.

Image is blurry, and there is reflection from the flash - I assume the flash - on the slug's body. This distorts the image.
Also, the border is too big and I think distracting. It seems to have a pattern to it, rather than being blank.
The important thing about the photo is the subject - the slug - and not the border. I suggest thinner borders, and bland. Otherwise the border distracts the eye and can overshadow the subject.
Also, you could try a slightly larger image. Just 50 pixels or so wider, and the same high, without the border, would be very nice. The image would be easier to see, as all the details are larger on the screen.
