according to some (e.g. Worfolk 2000, Dutch Birding) isabellinus (Daurian Shrike), phoenicuroides (Turkestan Shrike) and arenarius (Chinese Shrike) represent full species: Turkestan shrike was regularly encountered in the eastern parts of Kyrgyzstan, e.g. at eastern parts Son Kul and Jeti gz; males e.g. recognizibale by dark appearance, contrasting, rufous crown, obvious broad white eyebrow contrasting with black facial mask, starting well before the eye

Perched on top of the tree. Good contrast of bird's plumage color with blue BG and green leaves.
