Whiskered Treeswift
(Hemiprocne comata) 小须凤头雨燕
Size: 15 cm
Location – Panti Forest (Johor/Malaysia)
Description:
Small sized; note long wings reaching beyond tail; female lacks of chestnut ear coverts.
Voice:
High pitched squeawk in flight.
Habits:
Found in lowlands rainforest, along forest edges as well as nearby clearings, rivers and trails. Seen usually in pairs. Perches high on open branches flying out to catch small insects in the air nearby. Fairly tame and enjoyable to observe.
Distribution:
Extinct resident breeder and non-breeding visitor in Singapore. |

An absolutely stunning photograph with the swift on a suitable perch in a fine pose.
