I am not sure about ID of this complexly patterned dark colored butterfly but it looks like Blue Admiral that is common in Malaysia. I took this shot while it was sitting on red hibiscus flowers.

Despite a good focus i wasn't able to get the desired details. It had a bit tattered wings, some faded shades of rust, dark brown, black and white on its feathers. The red at the base created some reddish glow on underparts of this weird butterfly which was somewhat unavoidable. Hope some TN fellow will help me identify it. Thanks for your comments on my previous postings,

JUST WANNA SAY THAT I NEVER CONSIDER MYSELF AS AN EXPERT PHOTOGRAPHER. I AM ONLY A LEARNER WHO NEVER BOASTED OF ANYTHING GREAT. MY SHOTS HAVE A LOT OF FLAWS AND I ALWAYS TRY MY BEST TO IMPROVE. SOME PEOPLE HERE ARE TAKING MY COMMENTS/CRITIQUES TO THEIR HEARTS. MY APOLOGIES AND REQUEST AT THE SAME TIME THAT PLEASE DON'T FEEL NEGATIVE AND LET "TN" BE A HEALTHY FORUM.

IN MY CURRENT SHOT I JUST WANNA SHOW THIS WEIRD BUT LOVELY BUTTERFLY WHICH I WASN'T ABLE TO CAPTURE PERFECTLY. I HOPE THAT IT WILL STILL BE A SOURCE OF HAPPINESS FOR A BUTTERFLY LOVER SOMEWHERE..FORGET THE QUALITY AS ONE OF MY FRIENDS HERE HAS MENTIONED :)

Best Regards,

AKBAR

Hi Akbar.
Your shot is wonderful without any doubt. Simply amazing scene, impressive POV, splendid butterfly and flower. Richness of natural paints impress the imagination. Composition of the picture is spot on. Your profession is great for photography and we hope you will make us glad watching your nice pictures.
Warm regards and TFS.
Alexei.

Akbar,
Your words "... MY SHOTS HAVE A LOT OF FLAWS AND I ALWAYS TRY MY BEST TO IMPROVE." And, you go on and on and on .... But you don't allow "workshop". Why? How will you learn if you don't want an honest opinion of a TN member? This image does have, as you claimed, "many flaws". It needs its exposure, saturation, & contrasts decreased; the highlights and shadows need to be increased. If you permitted "workshop" you would see what I mean. My sincere apologies if my comments offend you.
Am your sincere TN friend wishing you many thanks & regards for sharing a ton of very beautiful images on TN,
Mario. PLEASE PERMIT W/S ...

Hi Akbar,
As I see, some didn't like this photo. It's really sad to see one of them, who's not even 1/3 as good as he thinks he is, trashed your great image with totally improper settings of highlights/shadows in his workshop. Probably the colors are slightly oversaturated - but that's the only problem. I don't see any loss of details and I admire the great shallow DoF and the pleasant composition you made. In my opinion a good image.
Best regards, László
