Grey-Bellied Bulbul
(Pycnonotus cyaniventris)
Size: 16 cm
Location: Ulu Langat (KL)
Description:
Look for diagnostic dark grey headunder-parts.
Voice:
A typical, bulbul-like whistle pi-pi-pi-pi.
Habits:
A rainforest species occurring from the high to low mountain elevations, mainly in forest, but in tall secondary forest and forest edges. It moves about in the canopy, perches lower, most often seen visiting fruiting trees. Few nest record.
Distribution:
Sunda Sub-region. Within the region, a generally scarce resident of the South Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Brunei; extinct in Singapore. |
