(Serilophus lunatus) 银胸丝冠鸟
Size: 15 cm
Location: Bukit Tinggi / Fraserís Hill (Pahang) / Kaeng Kracharn National Park (Thailand)
Unmistakable; the only member of this genus; note small size, female has faint white band across grey breast.
A clear pi-uu which had been compared to a rusty hinge squeaking.
Mainly a lower mountain forest species that seems to prefer the 600-1200m range, although it has been recorded from 300-1800m in its northern range, frequents primary forest and forest edges, where it hawks for insects in the air or picks them from the middle storey foliage. Fairly tame and sometimes offers good views. The nest is a pouch with a side entrance typical of the family.
Fairly common in Malaysia.
