[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The name is so special, and it reflects the reality. Very nice smelling flowers...so sweet especially at night. This tree is hard to get nowadays.
The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree native to South-east Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissuredbark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape to 10 to 25m high . Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats.
Also known as Fagraea cochinchinensis, Cyrtophyllum giganteum, and Cyrtophyllum peregrinum, it belongs to the family Gentianaceae. Other common names: Buabua (Fiji Islands), Urung (Philippines), Temasuk (Sabah), Tatrao, Trai (Cambodia), Tam Sao (Thailand), Tembesu (Indonesia), Anan, Ananma (Burma).
The trunk of this tree can produce very hard wood, and this wood can be used to make chopping boards.
It is pictured on the Singaporean five-dollar bill.

Hello Foozi,

This is an excellent macro shot of these tiny yet pretty whaite flowers. Good lighting and good use of the tripod. Lovely details and nice POV with good DOG. The OOF BG is very nice as it gives a good contrast to the white flowers. Very fine presentation. TFS.

This is a lovely plant—with expertly delicate lighting. I did a workshop to see what it would look like in B&W. Let me know what you think.

Hi Foozi, how's it going?

What a beautiful shot, Foozi! Well composed, and very colorful. It looks a bit under-exposed though. This may be caused by the fact that you shot it with Metering mode on pattern (not sure). Maybe you should have tried Spot metering here. I tried to compensate for the under-exposure in the workshop. I hope you like it.

Well done, TFS.

Best regards, Dimitri.
