The name is somewhat a bit of a misnomer as these are not all that common at all! More often than not these are shy birds found around waterways and mangrove swamps.
This photograph was taken through the car window with the lens resting on a bean bag. |

Lovely photo with bright colors that stand out in a wonderful way with the soft, muted background. I love the pose, the strong details, and the overall composition. Wonderful shot, this is.
