Brown-Throated Sunbird (A.malcacensis) size 14cm

Male are stocky, green and purple above, brownish head-side/throat. Female are straightish bill, yellow below and yellowish eyering. Produce a monotonous "wrick-wrick-wrick-wrab..." sound.

Habitat forest egde,mangroves,swamp forest,coastal srub,plantation etc..

this was taken on a very quite morning...for that morning i not even have a chances to push the shutter button.the pair come out to play infront of me,i only manage to get the male.as they are very active jumping up and down,no time for me to change my exposure setting.from the pic show that the part of his perch had burn out..even is a very common bird bird here at Malaysia but is very hard to get him on clean perch.anyway i m happy with it also cos this is my 1st record of this type of bird.

thanks for viewing..

Hello Ken,

Well composed and good color tone/sharpness!
I like the contrast between the front and background as well as this charming bird sitting diagonal, thin branch.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Ken,

Sharp capture and lovely pose. This bird has magnificent colros. A completely new specie to me. TFS.

Hello Ken

Very nice and colourful bird. Excellent focus with beautiful details on the bird. Very nice composition/cropping with the bird out of centre. The diagonal twig contributes to the composition in a very fine way. Well blurred background to set the bird off.

All over a very nice and pleasant picture to look at.

Well done

Bonjour Ken,

Bravo pour cette belle prise. Félicitations pour les belles couleurs et les détails.

Hello Ken,
You captured the bird very well. I think it is the first time I see it. Very big size for a sunbird. A beautiful and colourful though.
Hope you can photograph again some day.
Well done

Hi Ken,
You were so lucky... that you got a chance to see this pair of beautiful birds flirting. : )
For such active birds, you sure did a good job of capturing this gorgeous male. You did a great job catching the iridescence on his plumage, and the details are very sharp.
I went to the butterfly park in Penang when I visited there last summer. You live in a lovely place... with excellent food. : )
TFS. : )
