[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I previously posted a similar photo over on Trekearth.
This is a view that faced me when I was scuba diving in the Maldives, only 5 or 10 metres below the surface, in May 2001. The huge shoal of fish didn't mind me being there at all, they just more or less stayed exactly where they were, gradually making a space for me to drift through as the current took me.
Sorry, I don't know what species they are, there's quite a few different ones there.
The quality isn't fantastic, I'm sure you'll agree, it was a crop from a 1.3 megapixel camera! But, I like the photo a lot and TN is really the place for it, rather than TE, so I thought I'd post it here.
Hope you like it.
Andy.

Hi Andy,

This is a great capture. I think I have seen it before or haven't I? I think the shot is very well composed and the lights is very good. That must be difficult under water. I absolutely adore the frame. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Wall to wall fish Andy. Did you have fun? Excellent capture. Great composition and colours. Well shown, I like it. And the frame too.

Good capture.
There is one fish almost at the center what is a different specie than all the rest - you could have made friends with him :-)
TFS - shir

hmm - looking better there are 2 groups of fish from 2 different species and then this other one.

Great shot Andy!
I like this kind of photos very much - just a 'crowd' filling whole frame.
Quality is good enough to see these beauties well.
I like it very much.
WELL DONE !

Hello Andy! Great details, colors and impact..This would be great wallpaper for the PC! I have scuba dived in my younger years but gave it up..If I lived near water I think I'd take it again though..I envy your experience..It's like entering another world of great beauty and wonder when you go down their..Well done.

Hello Andy,
The photographs taken under water are not current! This one has fantastic colors and the details remain very fine in spite of the filter of water. Beautiful work.
TFS, cordially,
Jean-Patrick

Absolutely brilliant! And taken with a 1.3 magapixel acmera too! Just shows that it's not the camera but the photographer that's important.
Bev

Excellent Picture! My camera is a 3.1 mp and my pics dont turn up as good as this!
JP

As a zoologist I´m jealous...as a fotographer I have to comment the resolution..

But in the end....it is a great shot!

How wonderful to be there and see this, then share it!

Hello Andy.

Excellent image, nice composition and colors.

Regards.
Jose Luis.

Breathtaking! (sorry there's a pun in here as it involves diving).
But really, this photo is very, very pretty, these colors are amazing!
Marvelous shot. Gotta go there too.
Claus

What an amazing photo! Very impresive.

Hi Andy

As JJ Cousteau said Maldives are paradise!

I love the green contrasting with the blue. It's looks almost like the green is the lights reflection on the fish. A very kool fill pattern. It would make a good desktop wallpaper. Well taken! TFS Trevor
