A very impressive light show James,
the water carries the colour and light very well.
The hills silhouetted against the sky make a fine backdrop.

Is there a country you haven't visited yet?
I am glad to see you posting this wonderful sunset. Normally less clouds make for a better opportunity, but with the gaps in this cloud formation it does work. Wonderful colors and a lovely view. The exposure is superb controlled, especially since I see some fog across the river.

beautiful picture of sunset. I love landscapes , perticularly, sun sets. Here, the colors are very saturated and pleasing. The river is cool and picture is fabulous.

Which country you have not been to, James?
You are undoubtedly the most experienced globe trotter so far as the statistics on TN are concerned.
And you were able to travel in this troubled country in 2001. Very daring!
The sunset over the river is just beautiful.
Coming to your note on the river, you have given a wonderful account of this river in terms of its source and long passage through Burma and its historical significance.
The river flowing through my home district Chamba in Himachal Pradesh also bears the name "Iravati", though common usage has now shortened it to "Ravi".
Thank you for sharing this beautiful image from a country I have quite of bit of interest in for its historical links with India and as a setting for great works of fiction, especially The Glass Palace by Amitava Ghosh. Even Conrad's Lord Jim seems to have some association with this region in general.
