Hi guys and girls,

Here's a photo i took while over in Nepal recently.. you've got to go there.. seriously..

This photo is of the peak of Machapuchare, aka Fishtail to us foreigners.

This mountain is sacred to the God Shiva in Nepal and so is off limits to climbing. It peaks at 6993 metres, and has never been scaled. No one has ever been to the summit, and the first, and only known attempt was back in 1957, getting about 50 meters from the summit.

Enjoy the view, i know i certainly did!

hello gethin,
nice capture of the mountains at Nepal, the composition is fine, the colors and the contrast look beautiful, specially the blue sky, the shite clouds and the snow cladded mountains, you have handeled exposure well,
tfs & regards
pankaj

Hi Gethin,

Good DOF and colours in this image. The blue really looks cold and the clouds add mood to the picture.

Hello Gethin,
Wonderful shape for this majestic mountain. I discovered this great pic on TN. I remember having seen it once on this site. I like the way the mountain is surrounded by pieces of fog. Well done

Now that is a mountain! What a lovely image... sharp, with amazing light and perfect exposure on the whites. Perhaps a little crop off the sky would make it appear even more grand. Nice work

Wow great and powerful shot. Exposure is very nice with a lot of white and no hot spots. I think you would run this shot a bit cooler to get the whites white and it would be even more powerful. TFS

Hello Gethin

Breathtaking view of this majestic peak.
The clouds around it are super.
Excellent colour and contrast.
A very informative post.

Hi Gethin, Good clear photo of this high peak in Nepal. It is well centred and the blue sky is an ideal backdrop. It looks a little like the Matterhorn too. TFS. Murray.
