Brilliant, I came across these online the other day as my son is currently doing a project on spiders.
A great capture, probably the first on TN.
Well done and thanks for posting.

Beautiful strange spider. Maybe its spines protect it from being eaten by birds ? Nice white reflexions on its web, good composition. TFS, Patrick

Hi Rey,
excellent capture with amazing colours, the complementary colours blue/yellow make the spider really pop out.
Once I noticed these I find them in different places. The first one I saw in Australia in low scrub, similar shape but black-red-white in colour. Basically the same I found in Florida in the pine woods, and also two other versions in triangular shape but yellow-black, and the third one triangular white-black. I thought it was called a spiky orb-weaver, and the triangular ones had a name with the triangle and respective colour in it, don't remember exactly but I'm going to find out. If you already found more info, let me know I would be intrested as I am preparing some posts.
Kind regards,
Gabi

Great coincidence. Yesterday I put a photo of a spider exactily like that. The colors are different but the designe is the same.
Great shot.
