Purple-Throated Sunbird
(Nectarinia sperata) 紫喉花蜜鸟
Size: 10 cm

Tiny size; the smallest of the sunbirds. Blackish upper-parts contrasting with green cap and maroon belly are diagnostic. Female has a uniform dark olive.

A high-pitched series of chirps and whistles.

Found in wooded areas, from secondary rainforest and forest edges to plantations and mature gardens. This restless bird flutters about quickly in the canopies of small trees, where it feeds on flowers and tiny fruits and insects.

Common resident breeder and only in some forested areas of the island.

Hallo Ang
Fabulous shot. I love the bright details. Contrast is good and so are the colours. A very "happy" image. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hi Ang,

Lovely capture against the backdrop. Good clarity. TFS

A very colourful pic. I like the composition and colour in the FG as wella s the subject. Your POV, BG, DOF and sharpness are all very well done.

Hi Ang
beautifull colors (even in the bg) with good compo and sharpness

Hi Ang,
There is color all over this one. Good focus on the bird eye. Nice compostion with the flowers in the foreground and nice blurry background.
