Similar to the sympatric Bronzed Drongo (F. Dicruridae), but note its thin bill and white barring under tail. A monotypic genus.
An ascending, whistling call of 4-8 notes.
Found in lowland rainforest and along forest edges; occasionally disperses into scrub. It perches high in trees and flies quickly into the nearby scrub when disturbed. During the non-breeding season, it also can be found in mangroves and disturbed habitats. Generally it is inconspicuous, but quite vocal during breeding season. It catches insects and larvae at mid-storey level. It is nest-parasitic and it host are mainly on small members of the babbler family.
An uncommon resident breeder and winter visitor in the islands.
