Ferruginous Flycatcher
(Muscicapa ferruginea) 棕尾鹟
Size: 13 cm

Note diagnostic reddish-brown wing coverts and flanks, contrasting with grayish head and its distinct eye-ring.

Usually quiet during migration.

It found mainly in the mountain and breeds at elevations between 600 and 3000m. It disperses during migration and also into lowlands. It occurs single and in low densities. It is found in closed forest, where it perched low, usually near a clearing or a small stream. Habitually uses the same perch making quick raids from there to catch minute insects in the air.

A very rare winter visitor in Singapore.
