Hello Kevin,
you really elaborated the beauty of the insect by your picture. It is well focused, very sharp and presented with pleasant natural colours against a very suitable and nicely designed background.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Kevin

Nice to see another superb odonata from you! It doesn't matter if it's old or new to me...i like all of them anyway :)
This is a very interesting gomphid here shown well from a side POV. I for one had the chance to see and photograph only 2 species from this genus and they are both very interesting and quite different from the other dragonflies. Maybe i'll post one soon... :)
The details in your macro shot are terrific, and the natural colors of this species provides a wonderful contrast.
The DOF that you chose made sure your photo benefitted from a beautiful BG, too.
All-in-all: a great job again!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Kevin,
Very nice dragon image. Excellent sharpness, detail, DOF, color, and use of ambient light.
I've seen alot of dragon's, but none with this odd "fan" shaped protusion from the abdomen.
Have a great weekend,
Howard

Kevin
I have never seen one of these dragonflies before. You have presented it well and the detail is good.
If I can describe it in my simple way, this looks like a very muscular kind of dragonfly. The ones I know and seen is very dainty and refined. Impressive photo. And as I said to Marhowie in one of his critiques to him, “Photo’s like these make me realize that it is better for me to just enjoy viewing, adoring and appreciating them”. Thanks for sharing.
Warmest regards
Aaltjie
