[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Common water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) on Habarana wewa water reservoir. This aquatic plant has it's origin in the Amazon basin. Now it is an invasive species in tropical and subtropical areas all over the world. That is highly problematic because mats can double in size in two weeks. Other aquatic plants and fishes are suppressed.
