[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Although not that obvious in the thumbnailed version of this image, the small bee(?) that you see here flying above this lotus flower is seen in or near almost every lotus flower.
Mostly they are of course collecting pollen inside the flower, but I was able to capture one on his approach towards the flower.
I'm not sure about the species so perhaps someone can help out here.

Due to travel and weight restrictions I travelled with a minimal macro setup, consisting of the 100mm macro lens and a ringflash on the front. This left me some sapce for the other lenses on my trip.

Excellent inflight of this tiny bee fly Mike. Vibrant colors and the subject is sharp and clear. The dark BG sets it-off nicely. Very well done! Thank you.

Hello Mike

Hi Mike,
A superb macro shot. The vibrant colors really draw you to the photo, but then you see the small bee in sharp focus. The composition and framing are perfect for this shot. Excellent work!

Hi Mike,
not an easy object, the flying bee.
She's so nice and the flower is wonderful.
I love this violet one, also have one here with her story from Egypt, perhaps you are interested. You captured a beautiful motive, thank you very much, I enjoyed it, bye

This shot is pleasure for my eyes ! The composition, with the small bee flying above the beautiful flower, is great. I also appreciate the complementary note... Congratulations Mike and thanks for sharing.

Well done, flight shots of bugs are extremely difficult to manage, especially with any clarity, you have managed this well. Excellent camera work.

A flying insect is not easy to catch, but you managed well Mike. And the flower is quite stunning too. I love the colours. Well done.
