[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am new to the Trek websites and am really enjoying looking through all the galleries.
I love so many of the shots on here.
I am still learning so all critiques welcome.

Thanks Robert, I found the guidelines.
The shot was taken in one of the many elephant camps around Chang Mai used for tourists going on hill treks. The elephants are loosely chained while at the main camp but seemed to be in a healthy condition.
The original shot is not very eye catching, but close cropping totally changed the perspective. Colour saturation was used to make the eye stand out a little more.

Welcome to TN Mark, a very intresting detail image you chose to post, a very sad looking eye that is well seen even in the dark conditions you obviously had to work with, no obvious problems I can see but better people than me may say differently.
What is missing though are the informative notes, especially about the place you took the shot and any thing you did to prepare it for veiwing here on TN.
Have you looked at the guidelines for writting notes there is a shortcut to it above the photographers notes area.
Hope this is of use yours Robert

Hello Mark and welcome to TN. This is a great image to start with. You have captured amazing details. The texture of the skin is excellent. I agree with Robert, it is a sad eye. Very nice start to TN. Congrats on the great work. Thanks for sharing

Hi Mark! Welcome to TN! You did capture a good frame here, the sad eye and the skin contour made a good composition, but as Robert said, I wish there was a note, perhaps you could edit and add on the note ? Thanks for sharing

Really nice, Mark, very simple but you have to see it and you did, great shot !

Hi Mark, Very good details and a striking looking eye of this giant.
Very good first post and welcome to NT.
Thank you for sharing.

This is an excellent posting Mark. I feel quite moved, looking at that woeful, and weary looking eye. The POV of this shot cropped in tight like this works amazingly well, and to my mind, speaks volumes that perhaps the original wouldn't hint at...
Beautifully composed, and well done! Thank you for sharing it with us, and a belated welcome to TN.

Hello Mark,

very nice and detailed picture.
It shows some of the fine sensitivity that is hidden inside these huge bodies.
Most people only see their size and don't care about their intelligence and ability to care and act so gentle.
I really hope that somwhere in heaven there is a own paradise - for elephants only.

Nice shot well composed. Good details.

Really like this shot. It's an unusual crop, and very imotive.

J'adore, belle image, félicitation et bienvenue sur TrekNature.

Hello Mark.

Excellent macro, nice composition and colors.
Very good detaila.

Jose Luis.

Magnificient shot! The composition with position of the eye is awsum. Looks like tears are running down the eyes of this intelligent animal. Good colours and sharply focussed. Excellent work.

Nice shot well composed. Good details.
