Mekong Python
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a Python found on the bank of the Mekong River delta and being held until a decision to turn it loose or otherwise is made. It seemed sleepy and the man looking after it said it had been sleeping since it meal two days previously. It is about 4 metres long.
Thanks to John for his workshop which removes the rather unsightly wires around this large snake. The man opened the front wire door much to my horror, but he said a snake digesting a big meal will not chase people. Luckily he was right. I should have used the flash but decided not to loiter only a few feet from this huge creature! |

Hi Murray, wow, what an amazing creature. I can't imagine a snake 4 metres long, and it's got some girth to it as well. It's an amazing shot. I wasn't crazy about the cage effect so I thought maybe we could do something with that in a workshop.
Thanks, John
Glad I was not the one to find it!
Murray,
What a huge Python.
The one in the W/S is very well exposed.
These creatures are of great benfit to man.
Love the 'shiny' texture you were able to capture in this fabulous composition.
Very well done; congratulations.
Regards, Mario.
Hi Murray,
A nice image of the python, the photo has a good composition, sharpness and nice colors. thanks for sharing.

One thing to keep in mind in ALL of this is that on TN, cloning out < no matter how it is achieved > is NOT ALLOWED. Certainly not on a primary post. ;) ;j.
PS I prefer a few akward branches etc. to the cheating that happens because we lose sight of the PRIMARY PURPOSE of TN: To learn about NATURE.... it is not ABOUT photography, nor postprocessing... but learning THRU photography. For what it is worth. ;) ;)
PS2 See ToS.
