Hello Lou,
A fine capture of a Bare-throated Tiger heron (Trigrisoma mexicanum) taken from a great POV while it looks like it is shading its young with stretched wings. Nice sharpness, colours and composition.
A new species for TN: Conratulations!

Hallo Lou,
Er zijn 2 soorten Tijgerroerdompen die erg veel op elkaar lijken, de Gestreepte Tijgerroerdomp en de Mexicaanse Tijgerroerdomp. Deze laatste is een stuk groter, heeft een grijze kop achter het oog en een langere snavel. De ander heeft weer een donkerder snavel. Toch denk ik dat je gelijk hebt, de Mexicaanse. Bare-throated Tiger-Heron, tigrisoma mexicanum.
Hij staat hier in een prachtige pose. Prima scherpte en fantastisch mooie natuurlijke kleuren.

Een erg mooie super scherpe foto. Het lijkt mij alsof hij het nest beschermd en jou goed in de gaten hield. Het detail op de vogel is echt prachtig, en je hebt ondanks het licht de belichting goed weten te controleren.

Congratulations - this must be first on TN. I know I have never seen this Heron before. Great timing to catch him like this with the wings spread and the open beak. Wonderful colors and fine details of his face and patterned body. A beautiful setting and composition.
