This Snowy Egret is ready to strike for it's next meal.

These birds eat fish, crustaceans, and insects. They stalk prey in shallow water, often running or shuffling their feet, flushing prey into view, as well as "dip-fishing" by flying with their feet just over the water. Snowy Egrets may also stand still and wait to ambush prey, or hunt for insects stirred up by domestic animals in open fields.

This is the same bird from my previous post I found on the shoreline of the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge in southeast Costa Rica.

What a stunning image. I love the movement of the water in the background and the great sharpness of this bird.

Great shot Vincent. I agree with Sue, the moving weter is really good, adds an extra touch of vibrancy. Good sharpness and the mix of colours is nice.

Hallo Richard
This is a beautiful scene, with clear and fine details. Light is very well used emphasizing the different colours in this image, and makes the white bird stand out so nicely. I like the patterns the water is making in the background. It is really fascinating. A beautiful presentation of this lovely bird. Well framed and presented. Thanks for sharing, and have an enjoyable day.

Hello Richard,
This is an amazing image in its own right. But I saw the first image and that is still the one I love. Thats not to say this is any slouch, but my hearts with the first one. Great work Richard.

Egrets are such graceful creatures, aren't they?
They look like some ballerinas especially when they are in their breeding plumage.
nice pose captured here, Richard, with the bird very alert and ready to strike. the green and brown sea weed, the blue water and the frothy waves in the background makes it a lovely composition.
Thanks for the share,
