Discovering the riches of Costa Rica:
I saw this endemitic bird in the Parque nacional de Quetzales at about 2'400 m altitude. It's a Black-faced Solitaire (Myadestes melanops; Solitario Carinegro; Schwarzgesichts-Solitär, Turdidae).
If you are in one of these well guarded National Parks of Costa Rica, animals are not shy any more. This has to do with the "Big neutral animal" effect, the visitor being this animal. The effect develops only when visitors remain disciplined and don't leave the given path.
