WOW!!!
This is truely breathtaking!
It's defiantely one of the rareset phenomenons here on TN and for that i thank you for sharing it with us!
The long exposure worked like a charm and helped in capturin all the trajectories of the lava plus that fantastic fky in the BG. The colors and tones are, needless to say, magnificent!
Excellent POV and composition, my friend!

This picture of a lava spewing mountain in Costa Rica is priceless in terms of documentation, Luis.

Hi Luis,

Beautifull colors, excellent exposure. I like the clouds in the BG. Gives a nice mood to the picture. Good orange lava flow on one side of the mountain. Nice glow from the crater.

Hi luis!! Great shot!! you are a lucky man! You really make an exc picture of the Arenal! Only one wrong thing: Arenal Volcano its located at San Carlos in Alajuela (not Puntarenas). Thanks for share and keep taking this amazing photos!

I've seen this volcano at night with the lava flowing down the side and I have to say it is definitely an experience not too forget. :)

Beautiful time exposure. Did you shoot any with smaller aperture and longer time? I wonder how they would look.

I suspect you are actually glad that it was NOT a blast (but I can imagine that it was an incredible experience, especially after the earlier clouds). I was near Mt. Saint Helens during a minor eruption in 1980 (after the big one) and saw only ash clouds. Then 11 years later I looked into the breach on a clear day- it was an unforgettable experience.

You were so fortunate here, but also did a good job of taking advantage of the opportunity. Thank you.
