[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My apologies to the TN members for not responding to comments. For a longtime I was not able to access TN in my network and suddenly everything is back to normal.

I was not serious about bird photography four years back. I had an opportunity to visit the beautiful Island of Grenada. I had a Canon lens EF 75-300. No IS and no tripod. And then I saw these lovely hummingbirds right across my hotel windows. But I could not get a single decent shot. When I spoke to my wife in India she told me about the endangered Grenada dove. But I could not locate one.

Frustrated, I was sitting in the lawn of the hotel and saw this bird, perching on the top of a pole. Since the sunlight was good and the bird was more or less stationery, I could get a better (?) shot. When I came back to Vancouver and started referring books and internet, I started developing an interest in birds and bird photography leading to some more learning and some more investments in cameras and lenses.

This could be the tropical mockingbird (Mimus gilvus). I was confused since I was told that they are generally grey in color with yellow eyes whereas the bird in the photo is more browner. Buts according to wikipedia, immature birds are duller and browner ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_mockingbird ). So my assumption is that it is an immature tropical mockingbird? Am I right?

Hi Bala
Not eye catching colors, but a cute bird.
Sharpness and exposure are good, as well as the depth of field.
