Right now I feel really bummed out. Our Cleveland Indians are losing 7 to 1 in Game six of the World Series. They are about to start the fifth inning and it appears we are going to go to game seven tomorrow night unless something miraculous happens.

To cheer me up a bit I decided to leave the TV and post this Long-tailed Skipper. This is the first time I have ever seen one of these beautiful butterflies.

Like most skippers it has an erratic flight pattern. I spotted this particular specimen on some wildflowers in the early afternoon hours.

Hi Ron
Another beauty. Definitely this will cheer up and I am sure Cleveland Indians will produce such beauties and go ahead in the World Series.

Hello Ron,
Fantastic sharp detailed macro of this skipper in splendid colors against a beautiful blurred background.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Ron,
I have seen different Skippers in India but haven't seem long-tailed one. Nice species and well presented against such perfect blurry green BG. To me without such totally OOF BG, Butterfly picture doesn't look good at all. Good details and exposure.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards,
Srikumar

Hi Ron
I often see them in my country too.
Neat background, interesting pattern and good sharpness.
Good work in my opinion.

Hi Ron,

The flowers are helping to frame the butterfly. The point of view is showing the details of the Long-tailed Skipper buuterfly. The good luminosity is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.
